Sony WF-1000XM4

The WF-1000XM4 true wireless headphones combine industry-leading noise cancellation1 with high-quality sound, smart listening features, water resistance, all-day battery life and long-lasting listening comfort.

How good is the battery life of the Sony WF-1000XM4?

If you're worried about the battery, don't be. The Sony WF-1000XM4 lasts about 7 hours and 43 minutes per charge, and the charging case can charge the buds at least twice more in 24 hours, for a total of 1 charge. Even if you're a regular commuter, you'll likely only need to charge on weekends. Of course, this isn't the best battery life we've recorded for a truly wireless headset, but there's a lot to do here.

How good is the Sony WF-1000XM4 in terms of noise cancellation?

The Sony WF-1000XM4 does an excellent job of quieting the world around you. Not only do these earbuds have excellent active noise cancellation (ANC), but the memory foam earbuds seal oddly shaped ear canals very well, which means they also provide a fair amount of isolation.

Get to know your headphones

You can choose to have Adaptive Sound Control learn to recognize the places you visit regularly, such as your office, gym or favorite coffee shop, and customize the sound to fit the situation.

How do you like to hear it?

With the Sony | Headphones Connect app, Ambient Sound Control lets you adjust the volume of background sounds and gives you the option to allow sounds to be heard individually. Meanwhile, the equalizer lets you customize the volume to fit your music.

Smaller, no compromise

We redesigned the internal layout so that the WF-1000XM4 headphones are 10% smaller than their predecessors, without compromising sound quality or battery life. Weighing just 7.3 grams, they're light enough to wear all day. The charging case has also been reduced by 40%, but still gives you 16 hours of mobile charging.

Better for the environment

The WF-1000XM4 packaging is plastic-free, with 15 designs based on low-toxic design principles and a more socially responsible "remake" philosophy. In addition to the label, 99% of the paper packaging is produced using recyclable and sustainable materials developed specifically for Sony.
